We’ve been around the Franklins most of the day now… Lots of media, friends and family about. It’s a tough time for everyone – of course Paul is such a smartass he’s got his sense of humour about him. We’be had little more information – but he’ll be arriving in Rammstein late tonight (0400 LOCAL EDMONTON time) and he’ll be assessed there by the orthopaedic surgeons to determine the long term extent of his physical injuries.

While we are certainly more focused on Paul’s well being – we’ve not forgotten his comrades – Pte William Edward Salikin, and Cpl. Jeffrey Bailey. Our hopes thoughts and prayers are with them, and their families. Lastly, to the family of Glyn Berry, we – as well as all Canadians – send our sympathies

Paul buddy – when I told you to come home soon – this aint what I meant…
