Solid Ground

Posted on Tuesday 24 January 2006

It’ been a long 9 days - but 9 days is what is has been since we got the harried and frantic call from Aud telling us that Paul - her husband - and our friend had been in a bomb blast and was alive - but seriously wounded.

Since that time - I’ve tried to keep this log up to date, not just for me - but for Paul - who will need to see what went on at home - while he was receiving care in the ‘Ghan - and Germany.

A new friend of Pauls - whom he hasn’t even met - my buddy Lance has also been helping - by creating a media archive of all the newscasts and news reports we could get recorded from the first day on.

Where am I going with this - right…

So - as of sunset today - Paul is home - and in the care of the University hosptial. He has a limited visitation schedule but I’m going to try to get a few hours / minutes with him tomorrow - and will likely post a photo or two - if he’s game. I know the others are still in very serious condition - but I’ll leave their stories to their families. Sal has quite a following online…

So… last of all - this image from the media - the last I’ll repost. (Ok. Unless they are relevant) Now - we look forward. Recovery will be a long road - and I’ve committed to Paul, Aud, Darren, and Simon - that I’ll do everything in my power to help…

Welcome home bud.
