I’ll have a slice of context with that please

Posted on Tuesday 18 April 2006

It’s amazing. Sometimes you forget that the world listens. If you don’t speak though - they can’t hear.

I’ve blogged 2 mondays running and bitched about the world outside my door. While cathartic in some fashion - I suppose I allow myself to be drawn down into the melee and forget to shout from the rooftops about the GOOD things. (It’s just so much fun to point out those who need to be clubbed like seals.)

SO - In that vein - I now present my “Why tuesday is so much better than Monday Column!”

The past weeks (2 or 3) have been a real eye-opener. Lin is now sliding past the Morning Sickness blues thank G-d. It make me worried and anxious, because of my innate inability to help. That as a result caused me to sleep poorly, and get nauseated in the morning. (Couvade anyone?) All of the above I now see in hindsight and chuckle about.

Last week we saw the return of Spring in Alberta. The sun returned, the snow left, and friday saw me on the banks of the North Raven (”Small Stream Fusion” - Spring 2006 issue) with Alex and Darren - netting a big brown for our efforts. A sight for sore eyes I’ll tell ya.

Sunday meant a drive to Red Deer to visit Lins family on easter. Delivering MORE chocolate to the kids is like like poking Wayne and Rosie in the eye I’m sure - but the kids love it. We’re not going to argue with cute kids (especially since we don’t have to bathe them.)

Last night I got some time in at the tying bench, felt a little more creative for my efforts, finished some much needed tying, and got to bed before the clock read ‘wee hours’.

With any luck - I’ll try to get a little of the midge hatch after dinner tonight, and sell a few DVD’s in the process. Maybe I’ll even get to glue the reel seat up on my new rod!

All in all - I’m a pretty happy camper really. (But I’d still like a pack of “You’re Stupid” stickers that I can apply on the foreheads or windshields of the general public….)

I just went through a ’stupid experience’. The president of my club (who attends all meetings) phoned me (the vice-pres) to ask who the May speaker was going to be (there isn’t one, it’s the big sale event of the year). That has been posted on the web-site and in the newsletter for over a month now…..so what’s my point? Guess they’re all around us eh, lad. Shrug it orf as Granma used to say and enjoy!
    Talk to you soon.

You can go fishin’ right after you take Dumbass for a run. (Maya)
She hasn’t been in 2 weeks, and she’s driving me bananas.
