Benjamin Scratchley

Posted on Saturday 15 July 2006

What can one say. Seeing a glimpse of your childs face - for the very first time.

I’m stunned - terrified, excited, and so much in love with a child that I haven’t even met… He’s an extension of me - a new member of a big and scary world - under my protection.

Good thing he’s cute. I guess I can’t call him Skeletor anymore. I think Benjamin fits, how bout you?

This is so GREAT I find it hard to believe! I am really getting excited for both of you and myself as well. I’m still not sure about Ben , but he will be loved very much by Gramma, regardless of his name.t

Is he gonna be a Dry Fly fisherman, or a Wet Fly? I need to know so I can get to tying.

Of course……Benjamin is much wanted, much loved. For us, he’s a “one of” and that makes him extra special. (By the way, that’s Gran-Dad

So when’s the little man due anyways?! Darren and I wanna take you out for dinner before he comes (and when D’s home for a few days)

Greg & Lin: Benjamin’s a good, respectable name — and less prone to bullying than Skeletor would’ve been :-D

Ranger Bob: You start them fishing early up there, don’t you?

We like it too - however… We really had our hearts set on “Furious Skeletor Winston Scratchley” but it didn’t fit on the application for EI.

Skeletor “sucks” - no grandchild of mine would have such a moniker. Horrible names ended with his Gran-dad!

Well, the name certainly lost its relevance by this point so it wouldn’t have been as appropriate and, I suppose, that’s a good thing :-D

At least Skeletor would’ve been a cooler name than He-Man though…
