Oy Vey

My brain is addled. Maybe it’s from lack of sleep, stress from work, I don’t know, but I think I must be going senile. A lot of women told me that I would get “Baby Head” where I would lose brain cells from being pregnant, but you hear a lot of things when you’re pregnant. Most areĀ  complete BS, so you just smile and nod… (bobble head anyone?) …back to the brain - right.
I think it must be the lack of sleep, because it feels like when you get the flu and forget your own name, know what I mean? Taking 3 tries to get what you actually wanted from the kitchen or grocery store? Totally Normal for me now.
I do have to ask: Why do women want to do this? Instinct with the biological clock is a powerful thing. Despite the discomfort, lack of sleep, weight gain, morning sickness, Diabetes, etc, we still love to be pregnant, and want to have children.
Ask me again in six months if I want more. I may change my mind.
hmmm.

One of my coworkers whose third child just recently turned one spoke of this same phenomenom where the period during pregnancy is this strange world of lightness and euphoria. Sure there is morning sickness at first, sure there are various aches particularly towards the conclusion, and sure there are all sorts of odd cravings inbetween, but just the same the nine month period during which this new life is growing within you is just the most amazing and happy time.

It’s the sort of thing those of us with a y-chromosome say we’re glad not to have to go through, but really, one can’t help but be at least a little envious.

You have to push out your obligatory 2.2 children before deciding to have more. I never could figure out the point two thing though. =)
