Day 6 of 30: March 12, 2007
5 months. What exactly does 5 months mean?
- 5 months is just about how long the darkest part of an Alberta winter lasts.
- 5 months is long enough to build a new house.
- 5 months is a whole semester of college.
- 5 months is enough time to lose 25lbs.
- 5 months is enough to learn to speak spanish.
- 5 months is enough time to grow a 600lb pumpkin.
- 5 months is almost long enough to get used to having a child.
Ok. Everything except the last one anyway…
Benjamin is 5 months old today. Twenty pounds, and 5 months. What was a sleepy quiet ball of suckling innocence is now a wiley, toothy, giggling ball of attention whoring.
A personality is appearing. Quick to frustrate, but will drop anything for a giggle. A cuddly, loving, sweet, recognizes you at the end of a very long day, handsome and gentle boy.
I don’t know what life was all about 6 months ago… but I do now.

Parenthood is indeed a challenge from previous life-styles. Still, the reward is watching your little guy grow and develop - he’s a lovely little boy.
