Facebook.com is the new Crack Cocaine
Firstly: Nerd warning. This is not about drugs – it’s about technology. Social Networking is a current Internets buzzword that describes tools on the intertubes that connect people together and permit communication with a broad audience.
It’s true I tell you. This stuff is the internet equivalent of Crack. (World of Warcraft is more like Meth – it’s cheaper – but it hooks you way worse…)
I had a staff member (Serena… get back to work) who mentioned Facebook in passing to me. Then another coworker brought it to my attention to show me a picture in a COMPLETELY unrelated conversation.
Yes – it’s a plague, or a Curse… or Digital Meth.
Sweeping the planet – social networking is the digital representation of our analog lives. Sure we all have friends. Some we see daily – some we dont. Some we’d like to see more – and some we’d like to see less. Facebook (in a word) fucks it all up. Everyone you are connected to is right there – in your face.
Oh yes children…. it’s freaky. It’s “MySpace” without the crap, blinking graphics and shit audio streams. Look out MySpace – Facebook is gonna Curb-stomp you.
