This morning marks another loss for Canadians, and for the families of 3 soldiers killed in the line of duty in Afghanistan.
“The dead have been identified as Montreal-born Sgt. Christos Karigiannis, in his early 30s; Cpl. Stephen Bouzane, 26; and Pte. Joel Wiebe, 22. All were serving with the 3rd Battalion of Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, based in Edmonton.”
Then I read this:
“Getting tied up in Yellow Ribbons” http://www.thestar.com/News/article/227841
The article challenges the yellow ribbon campaign, expresses disdain for those that care to show their solidarity in support of our troops in-theatre (not only in Afghanistan - but the dozens of operating theatres currently manned by Canadian troops.)
Lance replied so well, that I cannot and will not comment on this blog. Rather - please read what Lance had to say, and please - share your disgust with the rag that prints Mr. Coyle’s words.
Agree with Lance (the Ranger). You sometimes have to wonder what makes some people in this Country tick! We are there to make a difference and we are handling what amounts to a cowardly form of guerilla warfare in capable and professional way. Yes, it’s a nasty job and somebody has to do it - that’s what the militaryt is trained to do. Coyle comes off as a bit of a twit in this. Bless those men and women over there for doing a job well in a hostile environment.
We must give them all the support we can and should be proud to be associated with them.
Thanks Brother, man… my blood is still boiling over this joker. It’s almost got me thinking of starting an e-mail campain getting everyone whom reads it to send him a magnet.
Grrr…. I will also have to forward my rant off to ‘Tim Hortons’ Head Office” whom still has not come through on “Buy a soldier a Double Double Day!”
